For those customers that had domain names registered through us that are using ENOM as the domain registrar, you may manage your domain at http://www.enomcentral.com/ .

If you don't know your username, try the user name you use for Integral Hosting's control panel. If that doesn't work, let us know the domain name in question, and we'll help you get your user name and you can then use that to get your password from ENOM.
What Is the DNS?

DNS can be considered something similar to a phone book. When you move from one location to another, your name stays the same, but your phone number may change. In order to point your name to the new phone number, you must contact the telephone service provider so they assign you the new phone number and update all directory information to reflect you as pointing to this new phone number.

In this way, the IP number can be compared to a phone number: When someone calls http://www.example.com/, your ISP looks at the DNS server, and asks "how do I contact example.com?" The DNS server responds: "It can be found at 198.105.232.4". As the Internet understands it, this can be considered the phone number for the server, which houses the http://www.example.com web site.

The DNS records for your domain are kept on your hosting server in the place called DNS zone. When you register a domain by means of the control panel, all DNS records are automatically created for you, but in some rare cases you may need to add custom records to your DNS zone. An example would be when you want all email to be processed by an external mail server rather than by the built-in mail system. However, such user intervention requires knowledge of DNS configuration and clear understanding of what is to be done.
InterNIC.net - www.internic.net/whois.html

Domain Transfer Help
SMTP SUMMARY
Explains how the domain transfer process works.

A domain transfer process works as follows, under the conditions that your domain is still valid for more than a month and the domain is not in dispute.

You decide to transfer a domain from one registrar to another. At the receiving account you pay a fee which usually includes an additional year of registration upon completion of the process. Integral Hosting also allows you to transfer domains by bulk, that is many domains at once.

Integral Hosting Web Services sends a confirmation e-mail to the owner (administrative contact of the domain listed in the Whois database) with instructions to confirm or decline the transfer request.

Once the administrative contact agrees to transfer the domain to a new registrar, the domain transfer request is reviewed to prevent high-profile domains like "microsoft.com" from being transferred fraudulently. Some domains will require extra verification before they are transferred. In addition if a domain is close to expiry or locked by a registrar, Integral Hosting Web Services will send an error message to the user who requested the transfer.

After verification, the request is sent to the Central Registry for approval. The Central Registry then informs the current registrar of the transfer request. After the current registrar's approval, the Central Registry gives approval to Integral Hosting Web Services to transfer the domain. The current registrar now has the option of denying or approving the transfer. The time this step takes varies from registrar to registrar but can usually be completed within 5 days.

The expiration date of the domain will be updated once the transfer of the domain is completed.

What is the difference between DNS Transfer and Domain Registrar Transfer?

Domain Registrar Transfer

DETAILS
For this article, we assume that you are signing up a web hosting account using a domain name that exists and that you own. If you need to register a new domain, visit: http://domains.integralhosting.com.

You can sign up using a domain name that you already own. After successful order form submission, we will set up your account instantly. Our hosting platform will be set up to accept your domain name.

In order to get your domain name to function with our hosting platform, you will need to perform a DNS Transfer.

DNS Transfer
You will simply need to update your domain's name servers to point to our DNS, which is:
ns1.integralhosting.com
ns2.integralhosting.com
ns3.integralhosting.com (if required)

You should be able to accomplish this using the web interface provided by your domain registrar. Our knowledge base contains instructions on how to accomplish the updates for some of the most popular Domain Registrars.

Your current domain registrar will continue to manage your domain. For example, you will pay them for your domain renewal fees.

Please note, that this is different than a Domain Registrar Transfer. A domain registrar transfer is when you transfer your domain from your current domain registrar to another domain registrar. For example, after a Domain Registrar Transfer, you would pay a different company for your domain renewal fees. Please see article: http://www.integralhelp.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=12&nav=0,6

Integral Hosting is not a domain registrar. Therefore, you will not be moving your domain registrar services over to Integral Hosting.

The Difference Between Transferring Hosting And Transferring A Domain Name Registration?

Transferring your hosting is changing the domain name servers (DNS) where your domain name is housed. It is most often done when you switch your Web site to a new hosting company or Internet Service Provider.

Transferring your domain name registration is when you move your domain name from one registrar to another.

Some Internet Service Providers (ISP) or hosting companies may tell you that you have to transfer registrars in order to change the DNS information and utilize their services. This is not true – you can retain your current registrar while using our domain name servers.

Domain Transfers
Instructions On How To Transfer a Domain Name

(1) Go to the website of the registrar you used to register your domain name and log into your account with them
(2) There should be a "Manage DNS" section. You can contact their support section for assistance finding this section.
(3) You will need to replace the current domain name servers (DNS) with the Integral Hosting nameservers.

Integral Hosting's Domain Name Servers

#1 Hostname : NS1.INTEGRALHOSTING.COM
#2 Hostname : NS2.INTEGRALHOSTING.COM
#3 Hostname : NS3.INTEGRALHOSTING.COM (If Required)

If you are not sure who your domain registrar is, you can do a WHOIS lookup on your domain to display this information.
If your registrar's name is listed in the search, you can go to the "Referral URL" to make changes to your domain name. If you are not sure how to do a WHOIS lookup, you can contact Integral Hosting Support to find out who your domain registrar is. We will be glad to help you find this information.

Once your modifications have been submitted, it will take 24-48 hours before your new information will be visible on the
Internet. This 24-48 hour delay is due to zone file propagation. The zone files, which update the Internet, are not transferred
instantaneously. They take at least 24 hours to upload to the Main Root Servers which, in turn, spread information throughout
the Internet. This can create delays of up to 48 hours before changes are visible in a WHOIS database.

These updates are made at 12 a.m. & 12 p.m. Eastern Time. Requests received and completed by these times will be
included in the following zone file update.
